Milestones without the panic

Milestone charts show averages, but healthy babies vary enormously — walking anywhere from 9 to 18 months is normal, first words from 10 to 16 months. A baby who rolls “late” is not behind; they are on their own curve.

What matters more than any single milestone is progression — steadily gaining skills over months — and connection: eye contact, smiles, responding to your voice, showing you things.
