Fertility
Fertility after 30, 35, 40: the honest numbers
You have probably heard both stories: the alarming one (βfertility falls off a cliff at 35!β) and the soothing one (βmy aunt conceived at 44!β). The truth sits between them, and you deserve it straight.
The real curve: fertility declines gradually from around 32 and more quickly after about 37. Per cycle, a healthy couple in their late twenties has roughly a 1-in-4 chance; by 40, closer to 1-in-20. That is a slope, not a cliff β plenty of women conceive naturally in their late thirties β but the slope is real, and pretending otherwise wastes the one resource that matters: time.
